Two distinctive venues producing local stories with national impact, championing emerging talent, innovative storytelling and breathing new life into the classics.

The theatre produces eight long running plays every year, mostly comedies and musicals. The shows have a Liverpool theme with largely Liverpool cast and crew. Sets are built in the city, rehearsals take place here and 95% of all money spent by the theatre goes back into the local economy.

A 470 seat timber framed Shakespearean theatre hosts theatre, music, comedy, workshops, events and activities creating an accessible space full of joy and creativity, where everyone is welcome.

The Pavilion contains an 814-seat theatre, and offers an eclectic programme of national touring drama and musicals alongside music, comedy, spoken word, dance, opera and a highly anticipated and successful annual pantomime.

The theatre showcases theatre, comedians, music and dance, it is also used by Local Operatic Societies, Musical Groups, Youth Organisations, and Dancing Schools.

This Grade II listed venue house Theatre, Studio, Museum and Gallery, the Atkinson has it all and serves the local community a varied programme.
